Infermieri: servono più soldi, non più competenze. Fedriga e Nursind sbagliano

Mai che qualcuno non parli di soldi...

The re-elected governor of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Dr. Massimiliano Fedriga, president of the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces, stated that the forecasts tell us that from 2027 we risk being left with even fewer nurses.

According to the President, eliminating the set number, increasing skills, would solve the shortage of nurses.
No one ever talks about money, salary increases, or allowances.

The proposal to eliminate the set number at university is superficial and does not solve the problem.
The real cause of the shortage is a poorly managed healthcare system, with low salaries, terrible working conditions, exhausting shifts, staff shortages, stress and burnout. Lack of rights and recognition, little professional autonomy, insufficient recognition.

We are surprised, but not too much, that some unions (always looking for palliatives) chase these proposals with little economic value, which would further burden the work of nurses, with staff who are not even selected.

Politics still does not understand.

Our salaries have been stagnant for decades, while those of managers soar. Many colleagues leave Italy to work abroad, where they are better paid and valued. The situation is serious, but not irreparable. An immediate change of course is needed, with concrete action from the government. The time for promises is over.

The possible solutions? To start:

  • Increase of 500 euros net per month: a first step to make the profession more attractive. Let us remember that we have been stagnant since 1996.
  • Centralization of the NHS: eliminate waste and unnecessary managers, value professionals.
  • Improvement of working conditions: stop skipping holidays, rest, and stress.
  • Elimination of constraints, clearance and freelance work
  • Significant tax relief, for example 50% on overtime: to increase the purchasing power of healthcare professionals.
  • Recognize nursing activity as strenuous and allow generational turnover by making the profession attractive on the one hand and allowing tired colleagues to rest after many years of honorable service.
  • A single national contract, outside of an increasingly narrow sector, we wouldn't mind.

We are organizing, we are ready, we will take to the streets to defend our NHS and the right to efficient and quality public healthcare!

We are the largest and most prepared army in the country, together we can change things.

If you agree share and come have your say on “Nurses Out of the Sector”, Facebook group, which is becoming a point of reference for mobilization and sharing of ideas. We are ready for the streets.
