Nursing Up is on the front lines throughout Italy, with particular strength in Emilia Romagna, to carry forward a fundamental battle: to promote internal and national mobility for nurses, midwives, and all healthcare workers. It is simply unacceptable that, while firefighters, police officers, and other categories are managed by a single administration, we, the heroes of healthcare, are fragmented into a myriad of different companies. Every city has its own Company, and this divides, isolates, complicates. The unification of the public Company is not only necessary, but vital. It was the key to the success of our National Health Service, once the second best in the world. Today, this fragmentation does nothing but squander resources, feed a suffocating bureaucracy, and inflate the number of expensive and often superfluous managers. Unification would reduce costs, simplify processes and, most importantly, allow many of us to get closer to home, to our loved ones, from whom we are often separated for years, paying a very high price in terms of family life for a salary that does not do justice to our professionalism. There is only one way forward: to unite under a single category union. The historic unions, those that still hold the majority today, have had decades to make a difference, but the results have not lived up to expectations. The changes to Article 18 and the collapse of purchasing power are just some of the failures that have left us with a bitter taste in our mouths. Enough is enough. We must come together, all of us, give Nursing Up 51% of union power, and transform Italian healthcare, bringing it back to the excellent levels that once made us proud. Look at doctors, psychologists: they rely on category unions, and they have achieved much more than us, in terms of rights, prestige, economic recognition. It is no coincidence that these categories are respected and called "doctors", while we are still "miss" or "mister". We cannot afford to be left behind. This is the time to make a difference.
