A historic milestone in the fight against cancer: early diagnosis and the possibility of targeted treatments, 7 years before the onset of cancer, thanks to a simple blood test. Two revolutionary studies published in the journal Nature Communications by researchers from the University of Oxford open new and extraordinary perspectives in the fight against this terrible disease. 618 spy proteins revealed: the researchers identified 618 proteins in the blood that act as "spies" for 19 types of cancer, revealing the presence of the disease up to seven years before traditional diagnosis. Early diagnosis and prevention: this revolutionary discovery paves the way for extremely early cancer diagnoses, allowing timely intervention with targeted treatments and considerably increasing the chances of success, even before the tumor develops. Towards personalized medicine: the second study identified 40 proteins in the blood that influence the risk of developing nine types of cancer.
