More than 4,800 assaults in three years

More than 4,800 assaults in three years: a disturbing escalation of violence against doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers. A hidden phenomenon, with many cases going unreported, which has led the Ministry of Health to establish the National Day of Education and Prevention against Violence in Hospitals and Nursing Homes.

March 12 is an opportunity to raise awareness among the population about a problem that mainly affects women, who are on the front lines caring for patients. 

The campaign #laviolenzanoncura, launched last year, aims to:

• Inform the population about the seriousness of this phenomenon.
• Promote respect for those who work every day for our health.
• Rebuild the relationship of trust between citizens and healthcare professionals.

Why is violence against healthcare personnel everyone's problem?

• It threatens the safety of those working in an already stressful environment.
• It reduces the quality of healthcare services, with negative repercussions on citizens' health.
• It creates an atmosphere of tension and fear that hinders the work of healthcare workers.

What can we do?

• Report any episode of violence we witness.
• Support healthcare workers with gestures of solidarity and respect.
• Promote a culture of non-violence in our community.

Only with everyone's involvement can we stop this escalation of violence and build a safer and more efficient healthcare system for all.
