Professionisti sfruttati: ecco la soluzione per il Nursing Up

Siamo pronti a scendere in piazza...

The nursing profession is in crisis. Many nurses and students are leaving the job due to unbearable conditions and low pay.

Here is our solution:

Prof. Antonio De Palma, President of Nursing Up, expressed his point of view as follows:

"Every day we feel more and more like those athletes who, after a challenging and exhausting marathon, are close to the finish line and would deserve to step onto the podium. Unfortunately, systematically, we are overtaken in the last meters by the same teammates, those who belong to the national health system (SSN). It's as if the political referees always consider these teammates to be better and more deserving than us. We are really tired of receiving only applause and praise, because in the end, despite the effort, we do not get the recognition we deserve. We only have a wooden medal that has no value."

The Regional Manager of Nursing Up Emilia Romagna, Francesca Batani:

Today the data show that nurses and students are increasingly leaving the profession. In many European countries, nurses earn at least 55,000 euros a year, enjoying rights and protections that in Italy we can only dream of.

Nurses, but also all healthcare professionals, are asking for salaries in line with the OECD average (at least 500 euros more, immediately), salaries that are adequate not only to the cost of living, but also to the great risk and enormous responsibilities that the profession entails.

In recent years we have seen an increase in disciplinary actions and possible complaints, fortunately always in favor of the professional, but legal expenses are expensive if you do not have specific insurance.

The problem is not only economic, but also concerns quality of life, the shortage of nursing and support staff, with consequences such as the cancellation of days off and holidays. Often basic requests are rejected, such as the possibility of shift swaps or permits, compensatory changes, leave of absence or internal or external mobility.

Nurses want a single national contract, instead of being placed in a sector together with clerks, without legitimate recognition like that of managers.

As a union, we are trying to raise awareness among politicians and companies by every means at our disposal.

We are ready to take to the streets, but we also need the help of you colleagues.

The time has come to stop delegating, we must do our part if we want to save the Italian healthcare system and if we do not want to find ourselves working alongside colleagues from the poorest regions of the world, with questionable training.

If we want to save healthcare in Italy, each of us must do our part.

Contact us, you can ask to become union leaders, activists or simply help by sharing, distributing a flyer and/or raising awareness among other colleagues.

It is essential to win the unitary union representations (RSU), this is the main objective to immediately change the healthcare system and then enter the established joint bodies (OPI) and politics. It is no coincidence that politics is full of renowned professionals, such as doctors and lawyers, we nurses are no less. We are the largest and most prepared army in the country, we are the fundamental pillar of the National Health Service.
