PRESIDENCY COMMUNICATION Dear colleagues, with deep sorrow I inform you that our colleague Pattocchio Maria Annina, our General Secretary, has just left us due to a sudden and fatal illness. You all knew Marianna, a determined woman always available to others. She never missed any important union event and lived and suffered with us for the growth and future of those whom Nursing Up represents. Co-founder, she was elected to the Nursing Up Executive Council, even after retirement, and was our General Secretary until her passing. A beacon of enormous experience for me personally, and for all those who knew her or who, in any capacity, collaborated with her. Dear Marianna, you yourself taught me that when you live every day alongside people you care about, you never want to be called to the responsibility of facing moments like this. Nevertheless, the great director has decided. You leave in my heart, and I believe in the hearts of all who knew you, an unfillable void. We will go on honoring your memory, proud to have known and appreciated you, and we will carry with us, in addition to the memory, the deep experience and gratitude for a woman who gave so much to our union and to nursing. I want you to be accompanied by my strongest and most sincere embrace, that of the colleagues of the boards at every level, and that of all those who had the honor of knowing and appreciating you.
