Gettonisti, sprecati 1,7 miliardi di euro: "Per il CCNL non ci sono soldi"

Un sistema inefficiente e costoso

Lenient policies can have unexpected negative effects, worsening the problems they were meant to solve.

Mild policies can have unexpected negative effects, worsening the problems they were meant to solve.

The National Anti-Corruption Authority (ANAC) has revealed a worrying waste of public money in the Italian healthcare system: 1.7 billion euros spent in the last five years to pay medical and nursing staff through the gettonisti system. An inefficient and costly system.

All Italian regions are involved in this practice, with Lombardy, Abruzzo, and Piedmont standing out as the areas with the highest spending on gettonisti.

Why is the gettonisti system a problem?

  • High costs: The use of gettonisti involves a much higher cost compared to hiring permanent or fixed-term staff.

  • Lack of continuity: The constant turnover of staff makes teamwork and proper patient care difficult.

What can be done?

    • Increase nurses' salaries to bring them in line with the OECD average.

    • Improve working conditions and reduce workload.

    • Eliminate constraints, exclusivity, and authorizations

    • A single national public/private basic contract and then improved contracts proposed by the most virtuous companies

    • Separate bargaining outside the sector

    • Recognition of the strenuous profession

We invite readers to raise awareness of the issue and to ask their political representatives for a concrete commitment to counter this waste and improve the Italian healthcare system.
