Mr. Councillor, I don't know how to address you, so I'll stick to being informal.I have already written a comment under your ignoble post and thought I had exhausted everything I had to say, ending with my invitation for you to be ashamed for writing posts like this.
But then today I happened to see a video with one of your statements precisely on this subject and I can't help but comment again.
I state that I am not one of your voters (and never will be), but that means nothing because as a politician you have a great responsibility when you open your mouth and make statements, so your audience is everyone, even those of us who did not vote for you.
When you say that the rescue in Bologna is done by nurses who work hard every day, but that "in the end" you need doctors on ambulances, you are saying something very inaccurate and then throwing mud on a system that is the pride of the region.
You are saying something very inaccurate because there have NEVER BEEN doctors on ambulances and there never will be because having doctors on all ambulances is not efficient, it is extremely expensive and above all it is unfeasible (there aren't enough doctors for the wards, let alone doctors able to do emergency care in the field), but doctors are on the automed, that is, the cars with a nurse on board (often it is the nurse who drives). The automed are distributed throughout the entire regional territory, both in the city and in outlying areas. The coverage of medicalization is well above the standards (you can inquire whenever you want at any 118 in the region and you will find confirmation of what I write).
As I was saying, you are also throwing mud on a system, the Regional 118 (and in particular the one in Bologna) that is excellent in terms of numbers, times, and rescue performance.
What you haven't understood is that no one has removed or will remove doctors from the field, on the contrary.
Advanced nursing protocols are an enhancement to rescue: a nurse who, due to their greater numbers, covers the territory much more thoroughly than a doctor, arrives on the scene first and can begin advanced rescue sooner, which the doctor will then continue and complete upon arrival.
No nurse wants to "steal" the doctor's job as Dr. Pizza of the Bologna Medical Association believes and thinks.No nurse wants to replace doctors: nurses want to have the tools to do their job as rescue professionals in the best way possible, and to do this, supportive legislation is needed to allow these professionals to apply evidence from the literature.
It is not clear why you and all the politicians close to you have decided to exploit this matter. Where were you or rather, where are you every time we talk about ambulances with only volunteers, who do emergency care?Do you know that in many areas of Emilia if you call 118, the baker and the mechanic from the village come to help you?Do you know that in the rest of Italy it is almost all like this?Do you know that the rate of professionalization of 118 in ER is the highest in Italy? That is, in our region there is the highest rate of professionals on ambulances? And this is thanks to the presence of nurses?And do you know that to work at 118 you need a certification that allows you to be accredited to regional standards?And that this certification requires having a long series of training courses certified according to international guidelines?
Your protests, so unfounded and so inappropriate, have the flavor of a partisan and harmful political protest.Where you want to go is not clear, but it is clear that your words are damaging to a healthy and effective system.
On board the rescue vehicles in ER we do not have "simple nurses" as you call them, but we have trained and competent professionals.
In conclusion, I know it won't help, but I'll try anyway, I invite you to review your statements and to stop continuing on this denigrating line and instead think about how to solve the problem with the Bologna Medical Association, all for the good of your fellow citizens and your voters.
