After decades of sacrifices, insecurity, cuts, and sacrifices, the constant deterioration of the rights and purchasing power of healthcare professionals has brought the Regional Health Service of Emilia-Romagna, and not only, to the brink of collapse.

"Wherever the crowd goes, you run the other way!" This is the powerful and provocative slogan of Nursing Up Emilia Romagna, which will strongly resonate among healthcare professionals throughout Italy. After years of unkept promises and the usual union meetings that only serve to stall without solving anything, the time has come to say enough.

One union, one voice.
After decades of divisions and fragmented union representation, it is clear that only by joining forces can real change be brought about. Only together, without dispersing our energies, can we hope to save the Regional Health Service in Emilia-Romagna and throughout the country. With a single union, strong with 51% of the support, we will be able to influence politics, organize incisive strikes and decisive demonstrations, as we have seen happen abroad, especially in France.

Why a single union?

• Greater bargaining power: By joining our forces in a single union, we will have greater political weight and will be able to negotiate better working conditions.
• More effective actions: By organizing demonstrations and strikes at the national level, such as the one scheduled for November 20 in Rome, we will be able to make our voices heard and achieve concrete results.
• A common goal: Only by joining our energies can we save public healthcare and guarantee a better future for patients and for all professionals in the sector.

At the moment, Nursing Up is the only union entirely dedicated to healthcare professionals, and this is no coincidence. For this reason, it is essential that each of us gives our support to this union. It will be through your commitment and that of your colleagues that the future of healthcare can finally be revived and moved away from the current state of desolation.

While other unions get lost in endless meetings, reassuring us that “everything is fine”, we fight every day so that the situation really improves. But with only 7% of the support it is difficult to achieve great results. Nevertheless, we managed to win the nursing allowance after a long battle, but it is not enough: healthcare and its professionals need much more (exclusivity allowance, salaries in line with the OECD average, a single national contract outside the sector, recognition as managers, arduous profession, free mobility, paid internships and much more).

The current system prefers to invest in new, double and expensive figures, or to seek low-cost labor from poor countries with questionable healthcare training, instead of focusing on quality, letting slip away those who are considered the best nursing professionals in Europe.

Healthcare is at risk. It's time to act!
