It seems like a coincidence but in my opinion it is not!
Shortly after the FNOPI's endorsement of the "notorious" nurse assistant, these 3 new clinical specialist degrees are born which, again, from a clinical point of view, have very little new (leaving aside the issue of nurse prescribing!) but which open us up to serious future scenarios concerning the profession!?
In the meantime, someone will have to explain to the many colleagues who hold specific specialist master's degrees obtained, under the current regulations, sacrificing time and money without ever being recognized (perhaps with some professional function assignments as in Ausl Romagna since 2023!) what will happen to them? Will they end up forgotten? Will there be an equivalence of qualifications (I don't think so, otherwise these new clinical specialist degrees wouldn't have been created)?
So what can we deduce?
That generalist nurses are left to fend for themselves (since we have to pay the registration fee to the board if we want to practice the profession? by a FNOPI increasingly distant from the working realities (where bed rounds are the order of the day in care planning? and launched towards the creation of a PROFESSIONAL ELITE made up of those who flaunt these excellent results for the category (which?????) who are then the same ones who, through nursing management, treat us like slaves, downgrading us every single working day?You will see that the next step by FNOPI will be to ask the social partners and politics that these, AND ONLY THESE "super nurses/graduate/master's/specialized" are placed in the HIGH TRAINING contractual area currently empty but which already provides for an economic quota, in the draft of the new CCNL, taken from the scarce economic resources available for the contract renewal?
Below will remain the nurses and other health professions increasingly squeezed into a narrow contractual area for graduates pressed by the other lower classification areas with only a few euros difference between one and the other.
FNOPI lays the first stone for a nursing elite and unfortunately puts the tombstone on generalist nursing!
The rest of the damage is done by all those who endorsed the birth of the nurse assistant
In the meantime;
- young people are no longer attracted to nursing degree courses (-50% demand in 10 years)
- young graduates emigrate abroad (about 27,000 Italian nurses)
- in the coming years we will witness the retirement of thousands of colleagues
A great scenario for the profession...but don't worry, we have the nurse assistant who will support the NHS...and then "the Huns are at the gates"...
