Daspo negli ospedali, il no deciso di medici e Nursing Up

Violence against healthcare personnel is a scourge that afflicts our hospitals, a constant threat that undermines the peace and safety of those who dedicate themselves every day to saving lives. To counter this widespread phenomenon, the government has decided to extend the application of the Daspo also to healthcare facilities through Article 21 of the Security Decree, expanding the urban Daspo to include hospitals and clinics.

Nursing Up Emilia Romagna says NO to Daspo in hospitals: we cannot deny assistance, not even to those who commit acts of violence. No one can be deprived of the right to health, enshrined in Article 32 of the Constitution Italian. The Daspo risks turning into a dangerous precedent, indiscriminately affecting even those who, despite inappropriate behavior, might find themselves in a situation of physical or psychological vulnerability.

Daspo in hospitals is a misstep rather than a real solution: an extreme and poorly calibrated attempt to solve a problem that requires a completely different approach.
