Nurses deserve the recognition due to true intellectual professionals. With salaries and working conditions appropriate to their responsibility.
But then, why are we still in the healthcare sector?
Lack of political will: a clear and decisive intervention by the legislator is needed. If there is a will, it can be done.
Union fragmentation and indifference: fragmentation weakens our bargaining power. Doctors and psychologists have strong category unions (over 51% representation). We do not.
Low awareness: too many colleagues still do not know their rights, nor the true potential of our profession.
Leaving the sector: what are the advantages?
Higher salaries:
Nurses, recognized as Managers, could reach more dignified salaries (up to 3,600 euros per month, like other Managers).Professional recognition:
Our strategic role would finally be valued. We would have separate, autonomous, and stronger bargaining. What can we do to change?
Mobilization:
We need a united and historic protest, like the one that changed the course of our profession in 1994.Union unity:
Give the 51% representation to a single category union, such as Nursing Up, would truly make us unbeatable.Awareness:
Let's inform all colleagues: knowledge is power. We can no longer afford ignorance about our rights.Political commitment:
Let's run for office, enter decision-making places, make ourselves heard. No one will fight for us, except ourselves. The future is in our hands!
A future in which nurses are finally recognized for their value,
in which working conditions and pay are finally worthy of our professionalism.
Let’s unite. Let’s fight. Let’s change our destiny.
