A survey conducted by Nursing Up Emilia Romagna and published by www.lapaginadinursingup.it reveals a worrying picture of the nursing profession in Italy. The survey highlights a deep dissatisfaction among Italian nurses. Difficult working conditions, low salaries, and staff shortages are pushing many to look for alternatives, even abroad. The survey involved more than 3,000 professionals, 96.2% of whom are not satisfied with their salary or their working conditions.

1) Work Environment: Toxic or Healthy?





The 62.4% of respondents stated that they work in a toxic environment. The 29% described their environment as slightly toxic. Only 8.6% are lucky enough to work in a non-toxic environment.
2) Choices and Preferences: Italy or Abroad?





79.8% of nurses would prefer to stay in Italy, in the public sector, compared to average salaries in OECD and better working conditions The 12.4% are willing to emigrate immediately The 7.8% would opt for self-employment or working in a private facility
3) Reports and Job Opportunities





32.3% reported issues to the union. The 31.4% have never made any reports. The 26.6% involved both the union and management. Only 9.7% reported directly to management. The 30.8% have received better job offers and are considering a possible change.
