Furto in ospedale, cosa si rischia?

How many colleagues, especially those of a certain age, have heard of wallets, cell phones, gold objects, stolen from patients? Too many. 

Today, thanks to the Court of Cassation, stealing in a hospital becomes aggravated theft.

According to article 625 of the penal code, theft is aggravated when dexterity, skill, swiftness are used to evade the attention of the victim, taking something from them.

Even when the victim is absent from the room, the law considers it an aggravating circumstance.

We are sure that the ruling will not prevent thefts in Italian hospitals, but probably some thief will think twice.

For this crime, depending on the circumstances (if violence is used, if weapons are possessed, etc.), the penalty ranges from 2 to 6 years of imprisonment and a fine ranging from 900 to 1500 euros.
