The new CCNL offends our profession and undermines our dignity. At the beating heart of the national health system, nurses are fighting a crucial battle for the recognition and dignity of their profession. Without immediate change, we risk losing even the little we have left. The only way to get what we deserve is to unite under one union, one powerful and unstoppable voice. With every contract, we witness a weakening of the profession. Many palliatives, but no real recognition, as happens in other advanced nations. Our goals are clear: Out of the Sector: We want autonomous recognition, reflecting the peculiarities of our profession. Single national contract: Standardize working conditions and rights throughout the national territory. OECD average salary: Ensure compensation appropriate to the importance of our role. Exclusivity allowance: Economic recognition as for doctors. Strenuous profession: Recognition of the work as strenuous, with access to early retirement. Substantial allowances: Allowances that are not ridiculous and stuck at a few cents. Meritocratic career: Possibility of career based on merit and qualifications, not on connections. We cannot accept that jobs with less risk and responsibility earn more than us. LIDL, janitors, and even caregivers are getting rights we can't even dream of. Without taking anything away from anyone, we too deserve to progress economically and professionally, like our European colleagues. We keep the NHS standing, we risk lawsuits and illnesses, we sacrifice a large part of our emotional and private life to the profession, holidays and nights away from our loved ones, the risk of bringing potentially deadly diseases home. Missed holidays and rest days that accumulate and that they will try never to pay you for. Conditions that offend our profession and accepting them means being complicit, not victims. National and international evidence and statistics are clear: ours is a profession with the highest number of injuries, burnout, and suicides. We ask for the recognition of our work as strenuous in order to finally obtain the protections necessary to make this fundamental job sustainable for society. We want free mobility that allows nurses to work where they are most needed and salaries aligned with the OECD average, to ensure compensation appropriate to the importance of our role. Too many unions, too much dispersion of energy. The solution is to unite under a single union, capable of truly representing the interests of nurses. With 51% of the votes, Nursing Up could lead us towards real change. If it does not achieve the desired results, I am ready to create with you a new category union, democratic and transparent. If we do not act now, we risk losing even the little we have left. Now is the time to unite, to fight for our rights and for the respect we deserve.
