We remind this union (FIMMG) that the role of the family and community nurse is desired and recognized by theWHO and the Ministry of Health.

The community nurse plays a fundamental role in prevention, health education, and home care.

We will not be discouraged by these pressures and will continue to work with professionalism and dedication for the good of our patients.

The family and community nurse is fundamental to winning the challenge against the aging population. According to forecasts, between 2020 and 2066, the number of people over 75 will increase by 1.5 million, while the total population will decrease by 11%. This implies an increase in the demand for healthcare, especially for chronic diseases, which represent 80% of Italians' healthcare spending. To address this situation, it is necessary to promote prevention, innovation, and sustainability policies for the national health system, the response to these policies is precisely the community nurse.

The community nurse intervenes promptly and competently to prevent complications and hospitalizations, manage chronic diseases, educate on proper hygiene and lifestyle, with an estimated economic benefit of millions of euros per year (saving on hospitalizations, antibiotics, ldd, dressings, infections, and hospital deaths and therefore also antibiotic resistance and resulting pollution).
